On November 12, 2026, World Usability Day (WUD) will once again bring together the international community engaged in usability, human-centred design, and the quality of the user experience.

This year’s theme, “Designing a Sustainable Future with Ethical AI”, invites reflection on how digital technologies and AI systems can be designed in ways that are sustainable, responsible, and attentive to human values and needs.

SIGCHI Italy is pleased to announce WUD-SIGCHI Italy 2026, which will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m., at the Coppito Campus of the University of L’Aquila, with the option to participate online.

The event is held under the patronage of the University of L’Aquila and its Department of Information Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics (DISIM).

Local organization is led by Prof. Tania Di Mascio, Associate Professor at DISIM and head of ATES@AQ.

The 2026 edition will offer an opportunity for the Italian HCI community to come together, exploring how HCI can contribute to shaping AI that is sustainable, ethically grounded, and responsive to individual and societal needs.
